Norma Chitwood

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Christian Life Coach (CLC)

Norma brings such a wealth of experience to her work with clients, which in large part, is due to the wisdom of her nearly two decades in the counseling field and her travels throughout life.

For 34 years, Norma was a member of the Armed Forces. She served on active duty with the US Army for 8 years and 4 months. Her remaining time she was a soldier in the US Army Reserve where she served two active duty tours. One tour of duty involved her being assigned to the Stabilizing Forces (SFOR) while stationed in Bosnia. The most recent tour of duty lasted over five years when she served in the Operation Enduring Freedom event.

Norma is a Social Work graduate of West Chester University and has a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College Graduate School. Norma holds a license in the state of Indiana as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Additionally, she has expertise in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety and mood disorders as well as grief issues. Also, Norma is an Advanced Life Christian Coach (certified through the American Association of Christian Counselors) where she provides coaching to adults who are interested in enhancing their self-awareness, and to help a person to determine their strengths and talents that God has given them to fulfill the calling God has for them.

Faith guides Norma's work with clients and she is open to integrating biblical principles with her counseling approach for those who have that desire. Working as a therapist at Peace Restored will allow Norma to fulfill what she sees as God’s calling, to serve women by helping them to develop and maintain their ultimate level of mental/emotional health.
